The Postal Service – Give Up (2003)
The Postal Service, indietronica/indie-pop from Seattle. Ben Gibbard, of Death Cab For Cutie fame and buddy, with backing vocals from Rilo Kileys Jenny Lewis (❤️), travelled all the way to Brixton to see these one eve.
Summer Camp – Welcome To Condale (2011)
Summer Camp, British Indie new wave/synth-pop duo. This, concept album, an ode to a fictional 80s American town. Went to see them live in Oxford on my birthday one year at The Jericho Tavern. Probably no more than 100 in a room above the pub.
The Rural Alberta Advantage – Hometowns (2009)
The Rural Alberta Advantage, from Canada. Indie rock, with a kind of jangly/folky feel perhaps. Solo’d a gig of theirs in London Town of a school(work) night. Couple of hundred people, was superb. Also, Amy Cole ❤️

Letting Up Despite Great Faults, “shoegazey indie-pop” from LA. Mike Lee, the main bloke, also in the band Fanclub who are very good too (but haven’t released an album yet)
#johnnyforeignershits
Johnny Foreigner, from Birmingham, sort of Indie/Noise-pop, sometimes shout and other times popping the harmonies. Seen them in Brum a couple of times and also conversed with them back in the day on MySpace, where I was a cool kid once.

Yuck, from London, UK. Shoegazey Indie Rock. Their first album is a definite 10 on 10 and and the very peak of me boning it on repeat I went to Birmingham to see them live. Perfect.
